Chesterfield High School Wellbeing Strategy

At Chesterfield High School we have a wellbeing strategy that looks at all areas of wellbeing and mental health in order to support our staff, pupils and wider school community, ensuring that all stakeholders are able to maintain positive wellbeing and mental health.

Our Vision Statement

At Chesterfield High School we are committed to promoting positive wellbeing and mental health for all of our school community. We will strive to create an environment which has a whole school approach in providing excellent support and intervention for all individuals in order to maintain their positive wellbeing and mental health. Health and wellbeing is to be at the heart of everything we do at Chesterfield and we will drive the message forward to ensure that mental health is the “responsibility of all” across the whole school community.

To show our commitment to wellbeing at Chesterfield, we are currently working towards to the Wellbeing Award for Schools (WAS) which highlights our continuous strive to improve our policies and practices across the whole school community. The school are currently working towards fulfilling the following objectives

Objective 1:

The school is committed to promoting and protecting positive emotional wellbeing and mental health by achieving the Wellbeing Award for Schools

Objective 2:

The school has a clear vision and strategy for promoting and protecting emotional wellbeing and mental health, which is communicated to all involved within the school.

Objective 3:

The school has a positive culture which regards emotional wellbeing and mental health as the responsibility of all

Objective 4:

The school actively promotes staff emotional wellbeing and mental health

Objective 5:

The school prioritises professional learning and staff development on emotional wellbeing and mental health

Objective 6:

The school understands the different types of emotional and mental health needs across the school and has systems in place to respond appropriately

Objective 7:

The whole school actively seeks the ongoing participation of the whole-school community in its approach to emotional wellbeing and mental health

Objective 8:

The school works in partnerships with other schools, agencies and available specialist services to support emotional wellbeing and mental health.
