Important Update – 4th January 2021

Dear Parents, Carers and Students

By now you will have seen the announcement that we are going into our 3rd national lockdown. In that announcement the Prime Minister said that all schools would close from today until at least February half term.  We are currently putting a remote learning curriculum together for you to access from Wednesday 6th January as we outlined in our letter earlier today.

From Monday 11th January we will be offering a full remote learning curriculum from Y7 to Y13 which includes Google Meets (live learning) Google classroom activities (set by Teachers) and personal development work set by Progress Leaders, including Careers education.

During this time, we also want to support your wellbeing and mental health so you will be able to access a weekly assembly, a weekly form tutor drop in and other wellbeing resources such as Kooth and Edukit.  As in previous lockdowns, your parents will also receive a weekly phone call from pastoral staff to keep in touch.

As soon as we know about free school meal vouchers, we will be in contact with those parents directly.

Further information about remote learning and resources will be send out on Wednesday.

January external exams for Y11, 12 and 13 as far as we can tell, are still going to take place this week, starting on Wednesday. Unless you are notified otherwise, please arrive at school at the required time through the student entrance. If this changes, we will be in touch.

If you have any concerns in the meantime, please send them to head@chesterfieldhigh.co.uk and we will respond to you as soon as we can.

We send all our best wishes to you all at this time. If you need us for anything, please get in touch.

Stay home and stay safe.

Mr Sexton
