Year 8 Student Survey
Student surveys were sent to all year 8 students to ascertain how they have felt returning to school post-lockdown and their general feelings towards the school. Below details the results of this survey;
At the time of writing this, we had an 82% response rate (194 / 238 students) with the following:
89% of students’ state that they are glad to be back at school after lockdown.
95% of students’ state that they enjoy school.
95% of students’ state that teachers help them to do their best.
97% of students’ state that they enjoy learning at school.
96% of students’ state that teachers listen to what they have to say.
94% of students’ state that there is an adult at school they can talk to if something is worrying them.
90% of students’ state that the behaviour of students in lessons is good.
98% of students’ state that the behaviour of students around the school is good.
96% of students’ state that bullying does not happen at school or if it does happen staff are good are resolving it.
97% of students’ state that they feel safe whilst at school.
94% of students’ state that the school has put measures in place so that they feel safe and secure in relation to COVID.
70% of students prefer the bubble arrangements in school this year.
82% of students’ state that they feel confident they could continue learning effectively through home learning if schools were to close again.
100% of students’ state that they would recommend the school to others.
Any student whom answered a question with a concerning response has (or if recently completed, is) being followed up by the Progress Leader or the Student Support Manager to resolve issues and ensure that students feel happy, safe and supported at Chesterfield High School.
